Three Israeli Firms Among TIME Magazine's 50 “Genius Companies” for 2018

Three Israeli companies were among 50 ventures selected by TIME Magazine for its list of 50 “genius companies” for 2018 published late last week and available in newsstands.

It is the first annual “genius companies” list by the esteemed American magazine, known for its hard-hitting cover photos. The publication said it asked its vast network of editors and correspondents “to nominate businesses that are inventing the future,” and evaluated candidates “based on key factors, including originality, influence, success, and ambition.”

Kids at Israel’s Hagar and Hand in Hand schools are taught to respect each other’s traditions and viewpoints without an ‘us against them’ attitude.


Afnan Abu Taha doesn’t want her two daughters feeling alienated from their Jewish peers as she did when growing up in an Arab village. She doesn’t want them to struggle with Hebrew as she did in college. Neither does she want them to lose their own identity, language, heritage and culture.

Israeli girl wins swimming gold at Youth Olympic Games

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (JTA) — Israel started the first day of the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires with a gold medal in swimming.

Anastasia Gorbenko, 15, won the women’s 200m individual medley on Sunday while setting an Israeli record of 2:12.88.

IsraAID teams help North Carolina, Philippines, Indonesia

The Israeli humanitarian NGO is sending volunteers to assist in the wake of the latest round of devastating natural disasters.


On September 30, IsraAID: The Israel Forum for International Humanitarian Aid sent a six-member emergency response team to North Carolina, where Hurricane Florence caused large-scale damage.


A second team of about six will fly out this week to help the local community in home recovery and debris removal, and assessing long-term needs as the area recovers.
